The World’s Largest Caldera
Ngorongoro Crater is a prime game-viewing area, making it one of Tanzania’s major attractions. The crater was once a large volcano and it is believed that the height of the volcano was higher than Mt. Kilimanjaro itself. The world’s largest caldera is home to a great diversity of wildlife, including the Big 5. The crater is located in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where Maasai herdsmen live side by side with the wildlife.
